چکیده

Background: Biofilm-associated protein (Bap) in Acinetobacter baumannii is an essential factor biofilm production and persistence the hospital environment. Objectives: This study aimed to detect bap gene A. by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) from clinical specimens Khorramabad, Iran. Methods: cross-sectional was performed during April 2017 - 2018 on 43 strains samples collected identified microbiological biochemical tests. The expression of evaluated PCR. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 24. Results: Out strains, 23, 8, 3, 3 isolated chest sputum, wounds, urine, tissues, blood, and, respectively. According PCR results, all isolates had except one. Real-time showed significant differences between diverse samples. highest found sputum wound a difference other (P < 0.0001). Conclusions: We observed most high this Therefore, further studies are recommended find strategies inhibit formation, which help treat infections caused biofilm-forming strains.

Molecular Analysis and Expression of bap Gene in Biofilm-Forming Multi-Drug-Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii

Background: Acinetobacter baumannii is commonly resistant to nearly all antibiotics due to presence of antibiotic resistance genes and biofilm formation. In this study we determined the presence of certain antibiotic-resistance genes associated with biofilm production and the influence of low iron concentration on expression of the biofilm-associated protein gene (bap) in development of biofilm...

Antibiotic Resistance of Clinical Isolates of Acinetobacter Baumannii in Hospitals of Kermanshah, Iran during one year

Background & Aims: Acinetobacter spp. are non-fermenting gram-negative coccobacilli that have emerged in recent three decades as major causes of nosocomial infections. Acinetobacter baumannii is the most common pathogen causing a wide spectrum of infections. Acinetobacter infections are difficult to treat, due to both the intrinsic resistance of the pathogen and its ability to readily acquire n...
